OUR MISSION AND VALUES

We believe that all God's children are created for a divine purpose in life and should be cherished and nurtured to their fullest potential.

WHAT WE BELIEVE

1.  We believe in the Triune God

We believe in the Triune God, consisting of Three in One.  Each of the three eternal persons was present at the beginning, was the beginning, and without which nothing was made.
Picture
  • GOD THE FATHER is omniscient (all knowing) omnipresent (everywhere) and omnipotent (all powerful).
  • JESUS CHRIST, His one and only Son came to earth in human form, shed his perfect blood by dying on the Cross to save us from our sins, was buried, resurrected, and seen by many before He ascended back into Heaven where He is now making intercession for those who repent, ask for forgiveness, and accept Him as their Lord and Savior.
  • THE HOLY SPIRIT, the Comforter, knows the mind and mysteries of God and searches our hearts, comforts, guides, convicts, and protects us.

2.  The Bible

The entire Bible, both the Old and the New Testaments, is Holy because it is the inspired Word of God.

The Scriptures are “Spirit-breathed” and were written down for our daily use.  They clearly show God's love for us and His intervention into history to accomplish the Plan of Salvation.  As such, they are the divine and controlling authority in a believer's life.

The Holy Bible is mandatory for guiding, teaching, training, correcting, and for the giving of hope and inspiration.

3.  Humanity

God created male and female in His image.  Scripture tells us that we are fearfully and wonderfully made.  Thus, the incredible nature of our physical, spiritual, intellectual, and emotional beings is beyond comparison.

Humans were created and designed with God’s purpose for us.  However, with the creation of the first humans and continuing until today, we all have sinned and come short of God’s plan and His glory.

4.  Salvation

The process of salvation is both simple and complex and is never-ending; at least on this side of Heaven.

Although we cannot save ourselves, we can make a conscious decision that we want to be saved. It begins with making a conscious decision to repent of sins (turn away from), accepting Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior which indicates a heart-felt belief in His purpose, work, death, burial, resurrection, and ascension.

This leads to a new spiritual birth which is a new world view, a new way of thinking, and a new way of behaving.  In the process God justifies, sanctifies, and saves us by His Grace which is His unmerited favor.

5.  The Church

In the purest sense, each Christian is the Church as he/she is the temple of the Living God.
However, for these purposes we will:
  • Refer to the Church as an organized group of born again baptized believers who are called to believe in the sovereignty of God
  • Accept the lordship of Jesus Christ
  • Submit to the leading of the Holy Spirit
  • Believe in the Holy Bible as the ultimate authority of God's Word
  • Mature through discipleship
  • Strive to be Christlike

These unite in agreement for worship, instruction, community, fellowship, and support. They should actively show the love of Christ; help win souls for the Lord; and observe the commandments and ordinances.

All believers, clergy and laity, are called into service and as such have the responsibility of striving to maintain a healthy tone of Christian faith and the commitment of time, talent, energy, and resources.

Each person must be encouraged to discover his/her gift(s) and creatively use it/them to organize, run, and build up the Church.  Under the leading of the Holy Spirit, every believer has a ministry in the Church.

6.  Evangelism

Evangelism is planting, watering, and growing.
Picture
We do this by reaching out and showing a depth of love to those within and without the walls of the Church, ie, missions and outreach for the sake of transforming lives for Christ.  We are mandated to seek those who are the most vulnerable, and in the process, grow and build up God’s people.

Each community in which a Church is located should know of its existence and be able to testify about its good deeds, the lives changed, and the love shown.  Each Church should know the most prominent needs and issues of the community in which it sits.

Evangelism does not limit itself to the local community, but we are called to repeat this model on broader levels, indeed to the whole world.

7.  Ordinances

BAPTISM
Believer’s baptism is the hallmark of the Baptist faith.  It is done by immersion.  In case a handicapping condition is present, where immersion would put one at risk, it is done by the pouring of water over the head of the baptismal candidate.  Child or adult, should be baptized when they are able to make a confession of who Jesus is, that they want Him in their life, and that to the best of their ability, they agree to strive to obey His teachings.

THE LORD'S SUPPER

The Lord's Supper, sometimes referred to as Holy Communion, is the other Ordinance given to the Church.  It was instituted by Jesus on the night that he was betrayed and arrested.  The bread used represents Jesus' body and the wine (grape juice, as used at All Nations) represents the blood shed for the forgiveness of our sins.  It is here that we come face to face with the saving power of the sacrifice that Jesus Christ made for us.  It is also an opportunity to examine ourselves, ask for and receive forgiveness, and to renew our commitment to the Lord.

8.  End Times

There will come a Day of Judgement.  No one knows the year, the day, or the hour.

Scriptures make it very clear that Jesus will return for those who call upon His Name.  On that day, all will have to give an account of their life here on earth with respect to our:
  • Worship of God
  • Acceptance of Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior
  • Obedience to the commands of God as lead by the Holy Spirit and the instructions laid out in Scripture
  • Treatment of our fellow human beings - the love shown or not shown to them.
